Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays – Week 56!

Another fun challenge at PaperCrafter's Corner!  I'm so enjoying this place!  I do hope more Fiskateers and displaced Peas will join us.
I'm making a gift set of cards for a young lady and decided to incorporate the challenge into that project.  I lifted much of the layout from a blog I enjoy by Stacy Cohen. I liked the idea of bright colors against a black background and went with that.  I hope you like it.  I hope Madison likes it.  :o)

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays – Week 55!

Wow!  PaperCrafter's Corner didn't have a Magazine Monday last week, and I got nothing done!  If I'm ever going to get caught up on my scrapbooking, I guess I neeed to find another challenge or two.  That seems to be the motivation and inspiration I need.
So here's my submission.  I wanted to go big on the triangle theme, so I started with scoring some Core'dinations cardstock on the backside.  I sanded it gently on the front for my background.  The rest is pretty obvious.  I chopped up DGD's pictures and put them back together, mostly.  I also used some extra cardstock triangles, embossed some of them with a LifeStyle folder, and sprinkled a few rhinestones around.  I love rhinestones.  It's hard to stop!  The border punch is by Fiskars.  The title is Sizzix Mango Tango.  The journal box is from Sizzix, too.  I heat embossed it with detail silver powder, but it may not show here.  :o)

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays – Week 54!

I was beginning to think I wouldn't get to play along with PaperCrafter's Corner this week, but here it is late Saturday afternoon, and I did it!  Yay!  This is a fun place for inspiration, so I do hope others will join in.
The magazine given for inspiration this week provided lots of ideas.  I had a hard time choosing just one, but ended up going with the tropical color scheme.  Here's the inspiration:
http://pccorner.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/MM-Week-54-Inspiration-Piece-298x300.jpgI made a 5" x 5" card using the sketch from DCVW's June Stackaholic challenge and used DCVW Citrus Stacks, both print and solid.  Lots of glitter on these papers.  Love that!  The sentiment is cut from 2 DieVersions dies.  The flowers are dies from La-La Land, the leaves, from Cheery Lynn Designs.  It's all just in time for my dear friend Pat's birthday.  I hope to see her at church tomorrow and gift her with some of my homemade olallieberry jam.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays – Week 53

"Happy Memorial Day" doesn't sound right.  It is really a solemn occasion, a day to remember those who fought for our country.  I think we can be happy that so far we have won!  But the cost has been high, many lives lost, many injured.  I am happy to live in a country worth fighting for!

This is my entry for PaperCrafters Corner this week.  As anyone who has been to my home can attest, I love the Red, White and Blue!  This little lad is from a clipart disk called Honeyville.  I layered him onto the sheet music digitally, printed it out, die cut and inked it.  I think this is called "hybrid" papercrafting.  :o)  I popped the sentiment, and punched the border with the Fiskars Sunburst punch.  The blue strip on the right is actually attached to the inside of the card.  I used a Bic marker to color tiny pearls for added interest.  God bless America!
Here's the inspiration from PCC.  You've got all week to play.  Strangely, I had a little extra time today to play.  Oh, yes, it is a holiday.

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays – Week Fifty-Two!

I'm loving PaperCraftersCorner.com!  It is just the inspiration I have needed to get me to complete projects on a regular basis AND to make use of my blog!  :o)
     Here's this week's challenge:
Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 52 Inspiration Piece (image)Hexagons!!!  I knew that was the direction I would go as soon as I saw this.   I love my Fiskars hexagon punch and my Lifestyle hexagon dies.  Although I'm not a quilter, hexagons make me think of quilts, probably because they fit together so nicely.  I used that idea to add a page to DGD's page-a-month album.  I'm not doing this chronologically, so I'm not quite as far behind as it may look.  Here's my completed project.
Thanks for the fun, PCC!

PaperCrafter's Corner Magazine Mondays – Week Fifty-One!

Papercrafting Challenge: Magazine Mondays - Week 51 Inspiration Piece (image)
Magazine Monday Inspiration
I may have said this before, but I am so glad to have found PaperCraftersCorner.com.  I can enter the challenges using supplies I already have.  With this weekly challenge, I can even keep up. . . so far!
I used my wide format Canon Pro-100 (a $50 steal!) to print the picture directly to 12x12 photo paper.  I cut the borders with Martha Stewart punches and got a work out cutting letters from Sizzix alphabet dies.  (Those were also a steal at $9 a set, and I use them a lot.  Oh, I do love being a thrifty crafter!  LOL!  Actually, I don't save anything.  I can just buy lots more stuff!)  A couple of purple rhinestones and lots of stickles finish this off.  I'm filling in the months on DGD's page-a-month album.
